A restatement of a text or passage in another form or other words, often to clarify meaning

Purpose: Devotional tool to help you connect personally with a verse or passage so you will better know how it applies to your life

Biblical example:
Nehemiah 8:1-8
“sense of the meaning”

Paraphrase it:
•Repeat the passage
•Key words that jump out
•What are the illustrations trying to picture?
•Re-write it into your own statement – 50 words or less
